The child of a mixie-artist family, Nicky Woo recieved her B.A. in psychology from Boston College. Quickly realizing that she'd probably become too cynical as a therapist, she moved on to art school; with a focus on individualized portraiture. Nicky earned a second Bachelor's (B.F.A) from the San Francisco Art Institute, pursuing further graduate work at Parsons School of Design while working with the famed fashion photographer, Tom Munro.

In Nicky Woo's short time as an independent, her clients have included Nike, Levi's, DKNY, Details, Time, Marie Claire, O Magazine, Mens Health, Interview, Essence, The Fader, and Time Out. She lives in New York whilst pining for the the sunny isles of Hawaii.
